Christmas Tea or Gouter de Noel

It's Xmas again.
Mon mari made a kugelhopf.
We have homemade Alsacienne cookies,
some glazed gingerbread fingers & cinnamon stars from Forwenger,
stollen, clementines & hot chocolate for gouter de noel.

Männele, Little Bread Man

We made some männele, little bread people for breakfast in the countryside.

Seafood Waterzooi

It's a easy and delicious meal.
I adapted from this recipe and made a seafood one.
The broth is made from cooking shrimp shells in salted water.

La Remanence

Yay! We are back at La Remanence in Lyon.
This time, we opt for the Plaisir de Jour, which is the basic menu du jour.
But it's not so basic because it's super tasty for a regular weekday lunch :)

Raclette

Melted cheese on potatoes,
with cold meats and pickled cucumbers,
what's not to love about Raclette?

Carrot Soup

Carrot soup with fried ginger is one of the soup we make often in winter.
We got a bag of shredded carrots on discount from the supermarket.
It's not as good as fresh carrot because all the juice is gone.

Tarta Blabar

Tarta Blabar, Blueberry tart I figured, looked pretty from the photo on the box,
cost of 4,50 euros,
looked lame and sad out of the box,
actually taste quite good!
I liked the nutty tart crust.
The blueberry cream cheese on top is not too sweet and slightly tart.

Ikea is really good in drawing people to their stores...

Tartine with Honey and Butter

Mon mari loves sweet tartine.
It's his comfort food.
He's practically finishing the entire loaf bread singlehandedly,
smearing the large slices of bread thickly with butter and french mountains honey from Maison du Miel.

Feels like havin' some sauerkraut

Time to eat some sauerkraut ou choucroute.
Mon mari & I went to check out some timber for work
and on the way, for lunch, we satiate our craving for some sauerkraut
at La Brasserie Alsacienne in St. Amand des Eaux.

The sauerkraut is good but the meat is disappointing.
I had some not-so-fresh fish but I'm not big on pork.
Mon mari said his large pork knuckle ain't so great either.

It was a BIG lunch!
We skipped dinner.

Mos Burger

Hello, Mos Burger! Here I come!

This nice young girl in blue ordered Ebi Burger like me.

One shouldn't be modest when it comes to doing business. Shouldn't be shy to just announce "MOST DELICIOUS HAMBURGER" Whether it's true or not, confidence in oneself is a must!

My Ebi Burger Meal with salad and japanese dressing. Trying to loss weight these days or at least, not gain too much.

Mos Burger is one of my favorite fastfood
because it's fastfood with a serious Japanese influence.
I love its rice burgers.
Rice burgers are burgers with rice patties instead of buns.
They are yummy.

My favorite is Ebi Rice Burger. (Ebi is Japanese for shrimp)
Their Teriyaki Chicken Burger is super too.
Mos burgers are quite small in size.
It's always not satiating to eat just 1, though 2 will be too much to eat.
My sisters would always order their ice milk tea to go with their burgers.
Mon ami enjoys Hokkaido Croquette. (He like anything potatoes. He is easy boy :)

For healthier choice,
Mos burger offers Natsumi burgers which are burgers sandwiched by lettuce.
