Hainanese Chicken Rice

If you ever come to Singapore,
it's one of the food you definitely have to try.
The chicken is moist and tender,
the rice cooked with chicken stock is fragrant and so tasty.
The garlic chili sauce adds acid and heat.
What can I say, I love it.
It's comfort food.

Handburger

It's not a typo.
It's a pun.
Handburger.

They make their own buns
and offer New Zealand grass-fed beef in their burger.
Their deco is super minimal chic and playful at the same time.
I wanna love them but their hamburgers ain't good...

O' why, Handburger people, why did you overcook that grass-fed beef?
O' why were you so heavy handed with sugar on your caramelized onions, forcing me to scrap them off the overcooked hamburger?
O' why are those pretty little buns you painstakingly baked in your own joint so lifeless and dry...?
Alas....

Yakitori Bento

I got hungry after doing some shopping
and needed to eat something before taking the bus.
I'd feel if I get on an hour journey's bus home with an empty stomach.
Low blood sugar is my self diagnosed excuse for being such a crybaby.
Happily, I was in the vicinity of Takashimaya (Singapore) Food Court.
It's one of my favorite place to eat because it has a wide variety of different cuisines
and many snack food stalls to choose from

Yakitori alor!
It's not exactly an healthy snack, it being just meat and rice
but I enjoyed it.
It's not the best yakitori but it's inexpensive and quick
and what I needed from getting a headache from the slow bus journey home.

British Airways Meals

For dinner: Tilapia with Tomato and Fennel Sauce, rice pudding sprinked with pistachio bits for dessert

Breakfast: Omelette with mushroom & tomato, a seeded muffin for dessert

Ok, I decided to do a airplane food segment.
Actually I have the idea for some time but I kept forgetting to take the pics
so finally on my last flight from Brussels back to Singapore,
I remembered to start my documentation of airplane food!! En fin!!

Quick Hamburger Restuarant

Quick Hamburger Restaurant in Brussels

Mon ami had the Super Bacon and I got the King Fish

Super Bacon

King Fish

Maxi Fries
Quick's menu

Quick is the most popular fast food restaurant, even more common than Mcdonald's, in Belgium.
Mon ami & I hardly ever visit Quick because we prefer Macdonald's.
To do a movie date, we decided to go to Quick which is nearby the cinema
after watching Dark Knight Rises.

Ok...
I don't understand why it's more popular than McDonald's...
The buns were dry and my fish filet was dry and tasted fishy.
I like fishy taste but it's not a good kind of fishiness.
Mon ami's Super Bacon is dry too.

FYI: Do you know that one has to pay for ketchup and other condiments in Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxenbourg (a.k.a BeNeLux)?

So we pay 1 euro for 2 little containers of ketchup to dip our stingy quantity of Maxi fries.
The Maxi fries' boxes are flat and cut in really narrow towards the bottom.
But that's fine since they aren't good fries, there's no point to eat many of them Quick's fries.

I'm reserving my comments on Dark Knight Rises.
I won't diss Chris Nolan.
